After investing time and effort in consulting google AI here the final product:
Ableton Live: Supports natively only stereo. Getting it working in Multi Channel mode will require complex workarounds, costly plugins and all that isn’t fully satisfactory,
Conclusively it’s Logic Pro, reaper and other DAW that supports MC.
I did the job now with Logic Pro using the 8 channel template from sticky notes.
The project is set to quadrophone and si each manual can be positioned with the surround Panner tool.
The internal reverb in organteq is disabled and so it sends only the dry sound.
The tracks with great, swell, choir and pedals (ch 1/2, 3/4 etc) are send to a bus which contains the reverb which of course can be panned again on the 3d space.
The result is stunning and sounds amazing realistic to me…..much better than what I have achieved with Ableton
The Logic Pro workflow:.
Multi-Channel Organ Routing & Space Designer Guide (4.0 Quadraphonic)
To separate the individual divisions (Hauptwerk, Schwellwerk, Positiv, and Pedal) in a 4-channel surround space and configure the Space Designer convolution reverb correctly, follow these steps.
1. Project & Mixer Preparation
Before opening the plugins, ensure Logic is configured for 4-channel surround:
1. Go to Settings -> Audio -> I/O Assignments and under the Surround tab, set the format to Quadraphonic. This assigns your four studio monitors as L, R, Ls (Left surround), and Rs (Right surround).
2. Create a new software instrument track and load Organteq as a Multi-Output (8-Channel) instrument.
3. Open the Mixer (X). At the bottom of the main Organteq channel strip (next to the Solo/Mute buttons), click the small "+" icon three times. This generates three additional Aux tracks (Aux 1, Aux 2, Aux 3).
4. Change the Output dropdown at the bottom of all four channel strips from Stereo to Surround.
2. Setting Up the Routing Matrix in Organteq
Open the Organteq interface, navigate to the General Settings / Output Settings, and map the divisions to separate stereo output pairs:
• Hauptwerk (Great): Route to Channels 1/2 (stays on the main track in Logic)
• Positiv (Choir/Choeur): Route to Channels 3/4 (automatically routes to Aux 1)
• Schwellwerk (Swell): Route to Channels 5/6 (automatically routes to Aux 2)
• Pedal: Route to Channels 7/8 (automatically routes to Aux 3)
3. Spatial Panning in the Logic Mixer
Double-click the Surround Panner puck on each channel strip to position the divisions in your physical 4-speaker room:
Division Logic Channel Position in Room (Surround Panner) Acoustic Purpose
Hauptwerk Main Track Top Center (100% Front) Acts as the visual and acoustic centerpiece directly in front of you.
Schwellwerk Aux 2 (In 5/6) Slightly pushed back (e.g., 80% Front) Placed slightly deeper or higher up in the virtual organ case.
Positiv Aux 1 (In 3/4) Bottom Center (100% Rear) Your Rückpositiv, physically playing behind the organist's back.
Pedal Aux 3 (In 7/8) Dead Center (0% Front/Rear) Low frequencies are omnidirectional. Center-panning distributes bass evenly across all 4 monitors.

4. Creating the Quadraphonic Space Designer Bus
To set up a unified, multi-channel convolution reverb that responds dynamically to your speaker layout:
1. In the Mixer, go to your main track, click an empty slot in the "Sends" section, and choose Bus -> Bus 1.
2. Logic will automatically create a new Aux channel strip for this bus on the far right. Because your tracks are in surround, the new Bus channel will automatically switch to Quad format (indicated by 4 small squares under the level meter).
3. On this new Bus channel strip, go to the Audio Effects slot and load: Reverb -> Space Designer.
4. The Space Designer will open in Multi-Channel/Quad mode, processing four distinct, cross-talking reverb channels simultaneously.
5. Adjusting Reverb Levels (Send Amounts)
Turn off the internal reverb inside Organteq (Reverb Mix to 0%) so that Space Designer can handle the 3D acoustics. Use the small Send knobs on your four Logic tracks to balance the depth:
• Hauptwerk: Medium send level. Retains crisp note definition while washing into the room.
• Schwellwerk: Higher send level. Because the Swell division is physically enclosed in a wooden box deep inside the organ, it naturally sounds more distant and carries more room acoustic.
• Positiv: Medium send level. Since it pan-positions from the rear, it will primarily excite the rear impulse response channels (Ls/Rs) and decay towards the front.
• Pedal: Low send level. Too much sub-bass reverb causes muddy frequencies and acoustic build-up in room corners. Keeping the pedal relatively dry ensures a tight, powerful low-end.
