In reality, the different pipes in Airteq or Organteq don't produce simple waves like those from synthesizers, but rather complex ones like the instruments they are modeled after, and from the very start, they respond to air pressure with different results (which, by the way, the flute ones are roughly between a sine and a triangle wave, depending on the air pressure).
Filters are standard components in the building kit of traditional electronic instruments, but physical modeling synthesizers are a completely different world. Airteq seems to lean toward the electronic side with the inclusion of LFOs and envelopes, but without altering the organic, natural character of the underlying physics, which is precisely what filters would do, and that’s why they aren't there (or so it seems to me, at least).
A classic technique in analog synthesis, such as modulating a filter with velocity, for example, is the traditional way to achieve variety and expressiveness. However, a synthesizer like Airteq already has an expressive response to varying air pressure; it doesn't need filters, which would ultimately go against its very nature (besides putting an even heavier load on the CPU, which already has to work hard enough with Airteq just as it is).
PS: Oh, and congrats on the audio tracks! You really know your way around the Re.corder! Let's see if I can get around to doing something testing out the flutes like you guys did, although I'd use a breath controller and a keyboard (I'm a keyboard player, what can I do). Happy tweaking!!

Note: If I were to synthesise the 'recorder' on synth I would choose the Triangle Wave. The options on Airteq seem to be open flue - flute (mostly sine wave), stopped flue (square wave) to get something in between I suppose we would have to be able to change the shape of the pipe from straight to conical I think? This would also alter the harmonicity, ie the overblow would not be the octave. Something like one sees on the Clarinet.
I didn't make mention of the principal or string offering as these are more saw wave - too many harmonics. If we can't alter the shape, then how about adding a filter so we can LP, HP, BandP the harmonics for effect ???
For those in the know - DO correct me !
