Topic: License purchase problems via Apple App Store

Please HELP!!!!
Is there a problem with purchasing a Stage License through the iOS App Store ??????? There seems to be a problem  when trying to purchase a stage license for my iPad from the iOS App Store via my Pianoteq 8 iOS iPad app. When I press the Purchase button for the Stage license it directs me to authenticate first by entering a username and password which I don’t have. The Modartt website is not allowing me to set up a User Account.
Is this a practice by Modarrt to divert Stage License purchase through the the App Store by making it virtually impossible to purchase through the apple App Store via the iPad app??? Thus forcing users to purchase through the Modartt Website
Customer service at Modartt has been unhelpful. Slow response time , usually a day or so, and no clear answer.

Please tell me how to set up a User Account to be able to purchase the Stage License through my iPad. Purchasing through the website is not an option since I am trying to use my app store gift card credit.

I don't use PTQ on an Apple device (yet) so this is second hand answer.

I suggest you create an account with Modartt anyway, because you will need it for other purposes (e.g upgrading, changing your email or address, selling the license, using the license on other non-Apple devices, etc).

If my understanding is correct, purchasing from Modartt website you can use on any devices, whereas purchasing from Apple store you will be able to use only on Apple devices, but I am not 100% sure of this, so search this forum for what others have said to make sure if that's a limitation which is indeed in place. Of course you can still be okay with it given that you have some store credit, just make sure you are aware if that's the case before you make the transaction final.

I understand your frustration with the response time. Keep in mind that Modartt is a small company based in France, so it would be very expensive for them to do better. Even on a forum, this is a niche product, so it's not one of those where "the sun never sets" and you can expect immediate feedback on anything. Search the archives is your best bet if you are in a hurry.

I appreciate your reply. However I’m not being able to set up or register any new account unless I have purchased a license already. It’s a catch 22 situation. I am aware that Modartt is a small company however I’m attempting to purchase the license through the App Store with the price they set. I appreciate their software and not doing the unethical way by getting a cracked version for free. I have credit already on the App Store already that I purchased and can’t afford to plop again €139 on my credit card. All I need is clarification on why I can’t purchase the license that already is an IAP item for purchase that they have placed on the App Store.

problem solved!!!! Turns out the problems lies within the UK App Store only…I set up a new Apple ID  in a different country and bought it straight through the App Store however in US dollars. Only reason I purchased the license is for the classical guitar instrument ☺️
