Hello Ross,
As one who regularly furnishes demos for Modartt, I do not wish for midi files of my live performances to be made public.
Why not? That's because, in my opinion, one cannot expect to "graft" one midi performance that was created using a specific piano model and preset ... onto a completely different model or even a different preset of the same model. The results are less than spectacular, and often worse than expected.
When I record my demos, I use ruler-flat velocity response from 0 to 127 key velocity on my ancient vintage 1990 Roland A-80 mother controller keyboard. Even then, the "feel" of any particular given piano model (Blüthner vs D4 vs K2, for instance), causes me to present differing tempi, different pedal technique and different note-on velocity. Agreed, the notes are basically the same, but the performances can vary quite significantly.
Here's hoping I answered your question adequately.
Cheers,
Joe
