Topic: Two excellent videos by Nahre Sol about music from her perspective

Just thought I'd finally post these fantastic videos while I'm having an intake-of-music day.

Really found these particularly interesting when I found them a while back (sorry if I have misremembered if I indeed ever did post either of them before).

After Jake posted a couple of fabulous videos of Erroll Garner, it made me want to re-visit esp. the first video below "Bebop, As Digested by a Classical Musician", and follow it with a refresher of Nahre Sol's ideas about "16 Levels of Piano Composition: Easy to Complex".

Fantastic videos, yes! - I wish someone had  learned, told me too, these things about playing piano in beginning of my journey (which was short when young, as I have mentioned before). Thank you, Qexl, for uploading this. I’m always learning from your uploads and comments  As I once said, we need you in this forum. Thank you.

Great videos. What an excellent pianist, composer, improvisor and communicator Nahre Sol is, and so generous in sharing a portion of her personal journey of insight and understanding regarding music. Instant YouTube Subscription. Thank you for posting these videos.

Most welcome guys - Glad you enjoyed them. I shared these with several others in recent times and I've basically been forgetting to post them here for too long.

Not that I can get anywhere close to Nahre Sol's wonderful super-fast musical mind and technique (music and demonstrations/videos etc.), but it's always so illuminating and inspiring exploring how people are describing what they know in such helpful ways - and she gives such excellent snapshots of her thinking, esp. how it relates to her ideas for composing.

Love her channel and her approach to everything (composers, styles, digital composition). It's very rare to have such a gem of music channel on YT.

Re: Two excellent videos by Nahre Sol about music from her perspective

Absolutely

I skipped a year or so of those series - and after revisiting recently, wow - add "prolific" to the long list of Nahre's praiseworthy works.

Theme recently for me is improvisation (modern vs. pre-romantic era etc.) - this one goes into some interesting areas. Was recently reveling in seeing old hand-written Scarlatti scores and trying to catch on to his notation, inventive etc.. and knowing how in his era, it was 'kind of' like a didactic 'lead sheet' in jazz, rather than notation to be played exactly the same - so maybe this is something we don't see spoken about much these days inre classical music. Found it a realy good intro..
