Bach, Prelude No. 1 in C Major from Well Tempered Clavier
(Apologies to J.S. Bach for the presumably extra measure added by Schwencke.)

Performed on the Bechenharp.

Salut Stephen !
One of the main strengths of Pianoteq is the ability to create new instruments.
You master this feature perfectly !

Delightful! I didn't know about that Schwenke addition, was that from an old edition?

Thanks to Gounod’s use of a score that contained the extra measure added by Schwencke, in Gounod’s Ave Maria setting of this Bach Prelude, that extra measure is probably more prevalent and influential in performances of the piece; in other words, people notice if the “Schwencke measure” is missing. It is not found in one of the presumably authentic Bach scores of the piece. An interesting bit of music trivia.

Thank you, Gerard. Pianoteq has so many parameters that affect each other that it seems complex and difficult to adjust them to one’s liking, and I’m constantly doubting or questioning my ears. Sometimes I’ll make what I think is an improvement, and then listen to an older version of the customized .fxp preset I’m working on and like it better. The process seems to work better if I take lots of breaks, forget about it and then come back to it later with “fresh ears.”
