Topic: Version 4 Feature

I am new to Pianoteq so I may be suggesting somethng that others will find unnecessary.

However, I will throw it out anyway and see what the reaction is.

It occurs to me that the keys on my keyboard deliver inconsistent sound volumes when a particular key velocity is applied to each key.   That is easily corrected within note-edit and it works great.   The problem is that there doesn't appear to be any means of retaining this modification throughout all of the presets or subsequent presets we create.

It would be nice to have a global volume preset which applies to the attached keyboard and all subsequent modifications to the volume will be relative to that global volume.
That way, if my keyboard has a few keys that seem to consistently deliver excessive (or too little) volume, this global volume preset could correct that.

So, there you have it.    Feel free to enlighten me if that idea is unnecessary.

BTW ... is there any point in suggesting these things in this forum ?   Are the Pianoteq creators paying attention to these comments ?    Is there a better place to make these suggestions.

Re: Version 4 Feature

Hello Don,

Pianoteq does have a "freeze" feature that allows one to retain global settings from one preset to another.  Sorry to be of little help to you beyond this statement, because I generally do not use it.  Perhaps Philippe and/or Julien from Modartt will read this thread and will chime in to help you;  this forum also has a number of users who will be able to help you, once they have read this thread.

Cheers,

Joe

Re: Version 4 Feature

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the reply.

I am familiar with the "freeze" feature and I have used it here and there.

I guess that would work.

I am a little apprehensive because I find that freezing parameters can be problematic and (like you) I seldom use it.   The problem I envision is that I may wish to raise (or lower) the overall volume for a particular preset and then the freeze function keeps that too for the next preset.

So, there would be some issues with using the freeze feature for this.

Having a global VOLUME ... key by key ... would be totally seamless and (I think) without any issues.   It would simply be repairing your keyboard's volume setting ... key by key.
