Topic: LISTEN UP ! Or down ...

Trying new temperaments has never been so easy.

What follows is a short demo of a famous traditional tune played on the usual Equal Temperament (12-TET)

Now the 3rd note of the major scale is tuned to give a perfect interval - hear the difference...

Finally the 3rd and 5th are tuned to perfect intervals - this results in a stretching of the octave as you can see in the image below

How is all this so easily possible ???

I'm trying out PitchGrid - an innovative approach to tuning. It doesn't just stop at 12-semitone temperaments as I've demonstrated above; there's a lot more to delight and discover - you can check it out here: https://pitchgrid.io/

Let your music take on a whole new flavour - change it through the piece; the world of tonality has just got more colourful !!!

PS - I haven't been paid to bring this exciting plugin to your musical ears. I just think it's a product well worth looking at and when (I say WHEN) MTS-ESP comes to Organteq I'm going to have a part of my own ... though I won't be drinking Champagne or any alcohol - I don't like the taste, or the effect (but that's another story - though not as exciting as this one - CHEERS PITCHGRID and MODARTT !!!).

Re: LISTEN UP ! Or down ...

I'm having far too much fun ...

Here's a different tuning with the 2ND, 4TH and flattened 7TH aligned - no stretching of the octave
