Modartt Video Contest 2025

Six historical organs

Alsacian Organ l (Strasbourg, St-Thomas 1741) 392 Hz
Alsacian organ ll (Marmoutier - 1746) 392Hz
Baroque Two-Manual l (Steinkirchen - 1687) 465 Hz
Baroque Two-Manual lll (Rötha) - 1721) 465 Hz
French Hybrid (Montpellier 1754 - 1934) 435 Hz
Classical French Organ ll (Poitiers - 1791) 395 Hz
(Some stops missing in video but not in sound, old computer)

Six old chorales

No 2 mel. 1574.  No. 3  mel. 1697  No. 5 mel. 1557, french  No. 15. mel. 300 century/Erfurt 1524   No. 89. Mel. 1640.  No 104. Mel. 14th century/1531

It would take too long in this contest to play all 18 historical organs, so the rest might come in one post all in a row in the forum later.
Some are tuned 392Hz  395HZ  465HZ 440Hz. To listen to lower Hz than 440 might help reduce stress, increase concentration….or 465Hz might improve sleep quality (I have not tested all myself yet..) But it might be worthy playing with historical organs….

I am happy that I am still able to participate, a thirteenth (13th) time.

Wishing you all the very best for your Contest. Good Luck!

Stig

I would like to thank D. Roman Auvray for the work on this ”Organteq 2 project”. Excellent job! And a special praise for these 18 historical organs. Thank you.

Just updated my pianoTeq to version 9. It sounds better than 8. Posted a short video on YouTube:

Here is an original tune composed around a couple of Pianoteq9 grand pianos, plus pipe organ and synth. It’s intended to be relaxing and calming - no excitement intended.

I was pleased to upgrade from Ptq8 Stage to Ptq9 stage using a contest entry voucher from 2023, and to buy the EP instrument pack using the 2024 voucher. Looking forward to my next voucher and purchase - possibly classical guitar…?

Reworking of Prelude for Piano M 65

Last year, I mentioned that this song could be played all the way through even with the free trial version.
This year, I tried making something like a reworking.
Thank you!

"August 21, 2025" Composed and performed by Lemuel Acevedo
Some dates stay with us. This one became a song.
Performed on the Bösendorfer 280VC (Vienna's legendary concert grand) using the new Binaural preset in Pianoteq 9: as close as sitting beside the piano itself.

Re: Modartt video contest 2025 - entries

Below my application for the video contest. It's a song I used to play on my Spanish guitar. I played classical guitar from my 11th to my 34th. I eventually gave my Spanish guitar away because I preferred Pianoteq's classical guitar sound (also because I can't have long nails anymore, due to my work in healthcare). I still have my other guitar for playing chords though.

The song's called Milonga, written by Juan Buscaglia (1893-1958). The vibrato sound half way through the song was made using aftertouch. More information about settings, instrument etc. in Youtube description

Below the link (the song starts at 0:07):

Very nice. I think my next Pianoteq purchase will be the classical guitar pack.

Thank you! I was really impressed by your video as well! About the classical guitar pack: it's SO good, I always hated every guitar VST until I found this one. So ridiculous how Modartt is the best at multiple instruments (piano, organ, guitar, harp). As I mentioned, I even got rid of the physical guitar because of it. 't Also was the reason for me to upgrade to Pianoteq 8 at the time. I'm now hoping Pianoteq will sometime in the future do bowed string instruments (Violin, Cello, background strings), to combine with my piano sounds and to play violin solo's such as Mendelsohn's concerto in E minor.

Hi, everyone!

My short take on "Deliver Us", from "The Prince of Egypt" movie.
I hope you enjoy!

I was lucky enough to have most notes on while using Pianoteq 9 trial.

Re: Modartt video contest 2025 - entries

Hello!

I am very pleased to participate this nice contest again.
This year I tried to prepare a file of MIDI music of Beethoven's great 5th piano concerto with Cakewalk (SONAR) software.

All MIDI data was entered manually from the sheet music and no generative AI tools were used.

With my methods and technical (dis-)abilities, performing piano with an orchestra, (no matter in the real or the  recorded orchestra), is absolutely impossible, but instead, I could use a sheet music arranged for two pianos which was published in such a distant past that the copyright has expired. This is a tremendous help in simulating orchestras from earlier eras.

I use two customized presets: one for solo piano and another for simulated orchestra.
No third-party effects-plugins were used.
It is difficult for me to explain the presets used with my poor English, so I will show this in my video (shortly at the very end of the video).

I know this video clip is extremely long for a contest entry, so if you don't have time to enjoy this kind of music, please watch it when you find it interesting.

Thank you!

Dear music lovers,

here is my entry for the Modartt video contest 2025. I present to you my recording of ‘Danza Paraguaya No. 1’ by composer Agustín Barrios Mangoré (1885 - 1944). Further information about the composer:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agustín_Barrios

It is a very lively composition. I used Pianoteq 9 - Classical Guitar - for the music recording. I made a few changes to the default settings (e.g. string length, reverb). Pianoteq 9 offers many great options for arranging this composition.

I hope you enjoy listening to it.

MODDART CONTEST 2025

Dear Friends,

I just updated to Pianoteq 9 and I'm taking part in the contest again this year, my second contest.
I haven't yet had the opportunity to discover the features of the new version of pianoteq, but the first impressions are very positive.
I will present J.S.Bach's Symphony No. 8 BWV 794 in three-part.
In the original title to these works, the composer called them “A faithful guide, whereby admirers of the harpsichord are shown a plain method of learning not only to play clean in two Parts, but likewise in further Progress to manage three forza Parts well and correctly, and at the same time not merely how to get good Inventions, but also how to develop the same well; but above all, to obtain a cantabile style of playing, and together with this to get a strong foretaste of composition.”
Bach used them in his teaching as a first step on the way to playing more complex contrapuntal works.
My settings are:
- Pianoteq 9, HB Steinway D Classical Recordings
- Velocity: I used a curve suggested for my Yamaha P125 instrument from the moddart forum.
I hope you will like it and good luck to everybody!
