Video Contest 2024

Here you can link to your own video on Youtube and participate in the Modartt video contest.

Click the "Post reply" button and paste the Youtube URL of your video in your message. The video will be displayed automatically. Feel free to provide some further information about the video that you believe might be of interest to the readers. If you do not have any forum user account yet, you can create one here.

The contest is open to everyone. If you are not yet a registered Pianoteq or Organteq user, you may use the latest trial version which you can download here.

Rules in short:

  • Only one entry per contestant is allowed.

  • The video needs to be new, not published before.

  • It needs to be clear on the video that you are using Pianoteq 9 or Organteq 2, either by showing the interface, talking about or displaying Pianoteq 9 or Organteq 2 in text.

  • The video needs to be uploaded to Youtube.

It would take too long in this contest to play all 18 historical organs, so the rest might come in one post all in a row in the forum later.
Some are tuned 392Hz  395HZ  465HZ 440Hz. To listen to lower Hz than 440 might help reduce stress, increase concentration….or 465Hz might improve sleep quality (I have not tested all myself yet..) But it might be worthy playing with historical organs….

I am happy that I am still able to participate, a thirteenth (13th) time.

Here is an original tune composed around a couple of Pianoteq9 grand pianos, plus pipe organ and synth. It’s intended to be relaxing and calming - no excitement intended.

I was pleased to upgrade from Ptq8 Stage to Ptq9 stage using a contest entry voucher from 2023, and to buy the EP instrument pack using the 2024 voucher. Looking forward to my next voucher and purchase - possibly classical guitar…?

Performed on the Bösendorfer 280VC (Vienna's legendary concert grand) using the new Binaural preset in Pianoteq 9: as close as sitting beside the piano itself.

Below my application for the video contest. It's a song I used to play on my Spanish guitar. I played classical guitar from my 11th to my 34th. I eventually gave my Spanish guitar away because I preferred Pianoteq's classical guitar sound (also because I can't have long nails anymore, due to my work in healthcare). I still have my other guitar for playing chords though.

The song's called Milonga, written by Juan Buscaglia (1893-1958). The vibrato sound half way through the song was made using aftertouch. More information about settings, instrument etc. in Youtube description

Thank you! I was really impressed by your video as well! About the classical guitar pack: it's SO good, I always hated every guitar VST until I found this one. So ridiculous how Modartt is the best at multiple instruments (piano, organ, guitar, harp). As I mentioned, I even got rid of the physical guitar because of it. 't Also was the reason for me to upgrade to Pianoteq 8 at the time. I'm now hoping Pianoteq will sometime in the future do bowed string instruments (Violin, Cello, background strings), to combine with my piano sounds and to play violin solo's such as Mendelsohn's concerto in E minor.

Hello!

I am very pleased to participate this nice contest again.
This year I tried to prepare a file of MIDI music of Beethoven's great 5th piano concerto with Cakewalk (SONAR) software. 

All MIDI data was entered manually from the sheet music and no generative AI tools were used.

With my methods and technical (dis-)abilities, performing piano with an orchestra, (no matter in the real or the  recorded orchestra), is absolutely impossible, but instead, I could use a sheet music arranged for two pianos which was published in such a distant past that the copyright has expired. This is a tremendous help in simulating orchestras from earlier eras.

I use two customized presets: one for solo piano and another for simulated orchestra.
No third-party effects-plugins were used.
It is difficult for me to explain the presets used with my poor English, so I will show this in my video (shortly at the very end of the video).

I know this video clip is extremely long for a contest entry, so if you don't have time to enjoy this kind of music, please watch it when you find it interesting.
