Topic: Favorite Selections from Stig’s/Ptqenthusiast’s ’”Music Library”

I'm making a collection of music here, music/compositions I haven't uploaded before, but also rare pieces from the past with a new sound, as well as special pieces that means a lot to me, Pianoteq and Organteq.

Today’s selection is:
A bit Bach.like, Bach inspired and 4 variations on Mozart's Twinkle twinkle  Ah vous dirai-je, Maman.

My Music library in my computer shows almost 1000 pieces Pianoteq and almost 300 Organteq pieces.

A bit Bach-like (old Ptq version)

Bach inspired (old pianoteq version)

Twinkle twinkle   Mozart   (old recording updated with Ptq 8 Kawai)
https://youtu.be/JNrpgTNRH5I

I had to play the hands separately in the fast 4th section, one hand first and then the other hand, and merge them into one track.
And it was impossible at the time years ago to play the fastest sections, there are 12. But nice to give it a try, Unfortunatelly I have so small hands and hook on little finger, pinky, that give problems with certain pieces and now at my age the finger get more and more stiff. But I struggle!

All the best, everyone

Bach BWV 911.
The toccatas represent Bach's earliest keyboard compositions, 910 911 916 compiled by Bach's oldest brother, Johann Christoph Bach between 1707 and 1713.

Here are two old recordings with, as in my opinion, have good sound already 2014 and 2017.I still like the Ptq version 5.

Pianoteq 5, August 2014  based on Bluethner. I think this sound is really soft and beautiful in my improvisation. Ptq sounded good already then.

Old recording, 2017, with Pianoteq 5, nice sound already then. Don’t remember which preset it is.

I still like this Ptq 5 sound, although nothing is better , more enjoyable, than Kawai and Bösendorfer. They are in a class of their own.
Fell free to give a comment about the sound, you might like it.....

really enjoyed your PTQ5 improvisation.  indeed the sound is quite good, considering that was over 10 years ago.  amazing how far it's come.  maybe you should try something similar with the modern engine to see how it compares

Thank you Stig for your recording of 2014 with the Bluethner Grand. I appreciate this beautiful and romatic sound very much, because a friend of mine has such a Bluethner Grand at his home. And your improvisation lets us hear the sound of this wonderful instrument quite clear!

Chloe's Dream  2019  I used Steingraeber Bright

This is a composition that was well-liked after the Video Conrest 2019. Although it didn't win anything, it's a piece that means a lot to me. The background to the story is what I myself experienced as a young man - you'll never be a pianist....said my teacher...and, well it's a bit in the text how it turned out....and now I have been in this forum since 2013 and have 700 pieces on Youtube in 9 years since 2016 and over 100,000 listens…not a pianist but an amateur that like to play and record.

It took me a while to get my confidence back, feeling sure of myself and my abilities….And thanks to all listeners here, it feels like the forum is my second home now.

15.12 2017 Modartt : ”Organteq Alpha is a new generation of physically modelled pipe organs that reproduces the complex behaviour of the organ flue pipe………  and should be regarded as a foretaste of a more advanced commercial version in development….” This was my first test 23.12 2017,  J.S.Bach Partita BWV 767, O Gott, du frommer Gott. Today 12.06 2025 we all know that now we have Organteq 2. What a fantastic improvement! I love Organteq 2.

Re: Favorite Selections from Stig’s/Ptqenthusiast’s ’”Music Library”

My friend, in Contrebombarde, received an email from Dr. John Henderson, Librarian of the Royal School of Church Music, with the score to this piece I play here, Festal March in Bflat. Very rare.

George Robertson's Sinclair's Festal March marked being lost/unpublished. It is not in any UK libraries but he has a copy. And he scanned it for my friend. ( one assistant organist at Hereford Cathedral had a copy!!)  And now I have a copy of a copy!!!

Here is the piece that has not been played in a long time.

Notice, The atmosphere completely changes around 2,20

Very rare:

Re: Favorite Selections from Stig’s/Ptqenthusiast’s ’”Music Library”

This is recorded just before Organteq 2 was released.
I am still pleasantly surprised every time I listen to this short piece of music. I think the sound is majestically powerful. Organteq 1 is still usable too.

A short Praeludium J S Bach   (Organo pleno).  There is written that this piece require ”Organo Pleno”. It means Full organ—that is, the entire power of the instrument. But not the same as Tutti. As I have learned, Organo pleno means full principal chorus. Take principals of various pitch levels 8', 4', 2', 2 2/3’  mixtures etc. all together, and I try to get festive sound.

I think this short little piece with Organteq 1 also have a place in this post ”Favorite Selections from Stig’s/Pianoteqenthusiast’s Music Library”. Furthermore, it got almost 1000 listens and 10 thumbs up just after upload on Youtube.

Enjoy!
