Topic: Sleigh Ride

No, it's not Leroy Anderson (much as I do love that piece, and many other things by him). This is my own creation, modelled on another well known sleighing song - yes, the one beginning with J!

My Sleigh Ride consists of two solo pieces which can optionally be played together as a duet. Both parts are suitable for pianists of elementary level, with not many changes of hand position and only a few sharps and flats.

Recorded with Bosendorfer Classical Recording, minimal tweaking and no post processing except very light compression and limiting.

Hey, I just noticed that this is my 1000th post!

Bravo dazric. Listening to the duet I got that Wow, sounds great. Congratulations! And congratulations to 1000 posts! You might catch me, I have 3605 posts now but as I get older, a few years to 80, there will be fewer and fewer posts, but I'll keep up as long as I can. getting stiff fingers.
P.S You like Anderson Sleigh ride so read my text in my Christmas song, text after the video, it might interest you that he made Sleigh ride in the summer!!!

Best wishes,

Stig

Re: Sleigh Ride

Thanks Stig, glad you enjoyed it. The piece began as an accompaniment to Jingle Bells  - if you like, you can sing Jingle Bells along with the Solo 2 part! I made a piano arrangement of JB as an alternative Primo part which is included in the sheet music publication. If I get time before Christmas, I'll record that version as well.
I think a lot of Christmas songs probably originated in the summer months. Certainly many Christmas albums are recorded in summer for practical reasons - to allow plenty of time for release well before the Christmas rush.
