Topic: Bach new video Prelude n 6 in D minor, BWV 851

Dear Friend,

This prelude is another small step in the long journey I have planned to travel: to record all of WTC I.
I hope you like it !

The prelude is a pensive piece full of nobility and refined feeling, and of a c ertain bustling activity; with zeal, and not without a certain humour, does the bass part visit the heights and depths of its domain, feeling its way now by steps of a fifth or of a fourth, now rising or falhng in long lines and by conjunct movement.
As usual, Pianoteq is excellent on my piano.

My actual setting is:

Played on Yamaha P125 piano stage                                          Video Recording Samsung Galaxy A54.
VST: Hamburg Steinway D Pianoteq Stage 8.2.1

A true musican - very good performance Carmelo. Nice to listen to your left hand, the bass line in this piece is fun.

An excellent tempo for this prelude. Your tempo makes it sound far more graceful than the very fast interpretations on Youtube, but it doesn't need to be. When you have all in a row in a post, it could be a good place to go for tutorials about right tempo in WTC l (anyway it is what I think about it)

Bach made the beginning sound like someone riding on a horse    (left hand)

Again, thank you Carmelo.

Best wishes,

Thank you so much for your comment and compliments Stig !
This Prelude was particularry hard to play, a lot to study: right hand staccato articolato, Left hand appoggiato staccato.... really not so easy but with hard work i got in my bag.....
I'm very happy you've enjoyed it ! I did my best !
Now I'll add soon following Fugue nr 6.

Regards
Carmelo
