here's a very fun blues by Monk, "Functional." he recorded multiple takes of a tune with this title, all Bb blues, some of them sounding rather different from this. i love the use of Bbmaj7 in bar 7, that's a real characteristic sound of his. subtle and unexpected, imo.

What shall I say this time, an unusual piece, I have never heard anything like it….but it is played well controlled….(Can’t think of anything else suitable right now). Anyway, I can like this. And the ending is unexpected, extraordinary - I love it love it.
And the name of the piece….? Functional - well the piece do the job, to surprise me, so under your fingers it is working properly
