Topic: iPad recommendations

Hello,

This is my first post to the forum, so welcome.
I own Pianoteq 8 PRO and I'm very satisfied as a beginner.
I'm using an SL88 Studio controller and I've been looking for a portable solution without dragging the computer along.

Since I have a use for an iPad for other activities I'm considering purchasing one.

The question is, which model of an iPad would run Pianoteq smoothly without glitches and low latency with a backing track (iReal or audio file) running in the background. Is iPad Air 5 gen with M1 enough (I would suppose so) or I have to look for an iPad Pro which is much more expensive. It would be great to hear from someone that actually uses one.

You don’t even need the M1 iPad for this but if you can get one for a good price then it will be more than you’ll ever need, for a long time.

Re: iPad recommendations

I have M1 iPad air that I use daily for pianoteq and it handles everything with ease.

I bought it for multiple reasons and needed the extra RAM that came along with it for digital paintings.

You can probably buy a used iPhone and have plenty power left over.

Thanks. I have an iPhone 11 and Pianoteq seems to work ok, but an iPad is more convenient and it doesn't tie up your phone.
