Topic: PianoTeq with MTS-ESP Mini Behavior
Hello,
I am trying to get PianoTeq to work with MTS-ESP Mini by OddSound. I have two issues currently that I would appreciate some insight on. I couldn't submit a support ticket for some reason, so hopefully asking here is appropriate.
Issue 1): The first is that when PianoTeq is hooked up to MTS-ESP Mini, it appears I need to keep PianoTeq's native tuning on the standard 12 equal temperament, or else the tuning isn't right. However, in the standard 12 equal temperament, PianoTeq does not go above MIDI note 113, which I need. I've played with the keyboard mapping menu and .kbm files a little, but I cannot get the range to increase. Is there a way to increase the MIDI note range while staying in 12-ET for the native tuning system?
Issue 2): The second issue might be a bug. When I have PianoTeq hooked to MTS-ESP Mini as a client, and I play more than one note, sometimes the tuning is not correct. Example, if I play a sequence of fifths (say C and G), sometimes I hear a fifth, other times I hear one of the notes detuned so it'll be approximately a minor sixth if the bottom note detunes or a tritone if the top note detunes. What is interesting is if I record the MIDI performance, the detuning is constant, so I'm guessing the odd behavior depends on the order of notes played. This behavior does not happen if PianoTeq is using its native tuning. This behavior is DAW independent, happening in both Ableton and Reaper
Thank you all!
