Topic: This video reminds me why I stick with Pianoteq!

Bear in mind that I was going to post this before Pianoteq's splendid 8.2 update. It showcases Pianoverse, a fairly recent offering from IK Multimedia. Given that IK have done some impressive modelling with ModoBass and ModoDrum, I wondered if Pianoverse was going to be a serious rival to Pianoteq. But no, Pianoverse is sample-based. It's received some rave reviews, apparently.

I appreciate what the pianist is trying to do here, and I can't really say that the end result is bad. But it's just a bit, well... meh.

There are some nice sampled pianos.  I like NI Noire and Kawai's sampled SK-EX.  Most digital piano sounds, sampled or modelled, I just don't feel.

Kawai: yes, I like it very much - but Kawai don't do a VST (sadly) and I'm not in the market for a new DP.
Noire: well, hmmm, it's a matter of taste. OK but not mad keen. I prefer Pianoteq!

I really want a CA901!  The action and the sound are top notch.  As a Pianoteq controller, FP-90x has some advantages: less bulky, less expensive, USB audio, possibly more accurate MIDI.  However, I don't like the onboard sound of the FP-90x.  Pianoteq is much better.  And the Roland's PHA-50, though playable, isn't quite as good as the Kawai's Grand Feel III.
