Topic: Under The Christmas Lights (my belated Christmas single)

Here, at last, is my first attempt at a commercial release. Yes, I know it seems really daft appearing in mid-January, but I underestimated the time that the distributor (Soundrop) would take to process it. Lesson learned! Anyway, it’s nice and early for Christmas this year .
This was done as a test run for future projects, so feedback would be appreciated. For the sound I did a lot of testing and the eventual choice was a preset I’d not tried before. It’s Steinway D Pop, but with the compression mix reduced to 10%.
I can’t take any credit for the beautiful cover photo, which is used by kind permission of Jill Wellington on Pixabay: https://pixabay.com/users/jillwellington-334088/ .
In case you're not familiar with it, I've also posted the original Gwen Stefani track.

dazric, this is well done!

I like the low notes at the beginning, and throughout the song. Your piano is well tuned, better than hers    And your song is as long as hers, 2,49! And you have a steady and good rhythm.

And you say ”it seems really daft appearing in mid-January”, - no dazric, not at all. It doesn't have to be at Christmas, your performance is so good.
Many people who don't know the song (like me) can listen to it all year round, there are no words.

Btw, I learned some things about her and saw that she got her name on Hollywood Walk of Fame - street.

Well what can I say more…
In summary, it is my opinion that this process, this piece, was very successful.
Congratulations dazric !

Best wishes,

Stig

Re: Under The Christmas Lights (my belated Christmas single)

Thank you, Stig! I really enjoyed doing this arrangement, but it took a lot of tweaking and editing before I was satisfied with the result.

Here's the story behind it. I've done some arrangements for ArrangeMe (Sheet Music Plus and Sheet Music Direct) - I enjoy doing them, but haven't sold many copies, so I need to work on promoting them. So this is the first one. I must confess that I did not know the song and hadn't heard of Gwen Stefani before I did this. It came up in an ArrangeMe newsletter of under-arranged songs. I liked it so I went ahead and arranged it.
