Topic: Roland RPU-3 Pedal Unit and Pianoteq

Hi All,

I have a Roland FA-08. It has the option to use the Roland RPU-3 Pedal Unit. While I do not have that pedal unit, does anyone else on here have one working with Pianoteq? Or any other 3 pedal unit?

If so, does it do partial systain well? I assume the sostenuto and single note sustain will work with Pianoteq?

Best,

Rob

Yes, I have the Roland triple pedal, but I don't have a Roland keyboard. I use my triple pedal with an adapter and software (Audiofront). The triple pedal outputs the full standard midi range. It works faultlessly with the Audiofront adapter.

Hope this helps.

Maybe someone who had this triple pedal and a Roland keyboard could help you more.

Warmest regards,

Chris

I think there is no reason why it wouldn’t work as the RPU -3 send standard midi messages and standard CC for sustain , soft and sustenato . These CC messages are going to be be sent to pianoteq with all midi note events .   I have a Kawai MP11 with triple pedals and it works without any problems .

Hi Chris,

I don't know what an Audiofront adaptor is, but do you have the RPU-3 plugged into any digital keyboard? If so, does it trasmit partial sustain?

Thanks for the reply.

Yes. Well, not only partial, but better, continuous sustain!

I use the RPU-3 with an RD-88 and it works perfectly fine.
