Topic: Please Help: Sustain pedal noise (release of dampers)

Hi,

I am really bothered by the noise that is made whenever the sustain pedal is pressed. Not the Action (which I've switched off) but the ting as the "dampers are releasing the keys". It is very loud and I feel as if im playing a harpsichord or something every time I need to pedal.

Im on the PT Stage 8.1.3.

Thanks in advance

Open the "Action" panel and reduce the "pedal noise" and/or the "key release noise"

Yes. And bear in mind that some presets, particularly the close mic settings, do tend to emphasise these noises.

Exactly, this is one of the reasons why, when recording classical music, you have to put the microphones far away ;-)
