Topic: Please check this FXP and tell me what's wrong with it

Hi,

I'm lately obsesed with the YC5 trying to make it sound as beautiful as some other samples Yamaha's

I like the sound and presence with headphones but it all turns off when switching over to external monitors (a pair of iLoud MTM).

Tweaked the "player" preset, removed reverb, changed mics to "stereophonic" and some heavy EQ on the lower range between 80Hz and 600Hz

The result is more pleasing to my ears, I can feel more presence and more sparky sound, more air if you want, but still feeling like there's something off.

Wondered if you guys could give it a try and say what you think I'm doing wrong

The FXP is here https://forum.modartt.com/file/8ug1i599

Thanks in advance

Re: Please check this FXP and tell me what's wrong with it

I will say this to start -- your fxp is good--rocking as it should be!
Also, I'm so glad to see someone else reaching out for discussion of YC5 presets!

Ok so here's the 5 minute lunch break version.

3 things to consider doing:
Lower the Sympathetic resonance in mid ranges (to create evenness -- a matter of  taste, though)
G2-C3 are too loud
D3 forte hammer is too hard

Looking forward to seeing more on this topic!

MOTU M2 using native ASIO driver, Windows 11, weird tweaks needed to make it work, but seems fine now.
I have posted several times about tweaking Pianoteq

Re: Please check this FXP and tell me what's wrong with it

Thanks for testing, I've tweaked the EQ a bit more and also tried to get rid of that plastic sort of "ring" (not sure how to describe it) by adjusting the spectrum values a bit, I'm missing some more metallic sound, it feels like you're hitting an elastic rubber ..

Here's the new FXP https://forum.modartt.com/file/339sy2ax

Thanks for any feedback or suggestions
