Topic: Where did the "Global resonance" go?

Well, the title says it all... Since there's a "Duplex scale" parameter in V3.5, the "Global resonance" slider went away... Also, since we have this amazing "Strike point" slider, the hammer noise doesn't have a "Character" anymore... The latter is still present in the MIDI setup and can be assigned to a controller, but this doesn't apply to "Global resonance". Weird. Am I missing something? The Manual says "Global resonance and sympathetic resonance are also CPU consuming, but if you push the corresponding sliders completely to the left, the resonance computations are by-passed, thus reducing the CPU load." But this is the only passage where "Global resonance" is mentioned...

Re: Where did the "Global resonance" go?

The global resonance has been split in two parts:

  • the sympathetic resonance which contains the resonances generated by the part of the strings that are stroked by the hammers,

  • the duplex scale which contains the resonances produced by the other part of the strings that are sometimes muted, sometimes not.

Re: Where did the "Global resonance" go?

Ah - I see. Just out of curiosity - how is this translated from 3.0 presets? I seem to recall in a Logic project that had been started with PTQ 3.0 used the 3.5 AU without hassles...

Re: Where did the "Global resonance" go?

The old global resonance value is applied to the sympathetic resonance value, and the duplex scale value is set to 1. BTW, this was the consequence of the improvement of our sympathetic resonances algorithm.
