Topic: Roadhouse Jazz - New Album (Guitars)

Continuing my exploration of the guitar with perhaps a little more relaxed (tried to make it into a groove) approach now with just one lead guitar plus rhythm, base and drums. All classical guitars except the drums and using 3rd party amps from Neutral DSP. Not sure when to call it blues instead of jazz.

Here are 2 representative tracks:

Hello kencarlino, it’s nice to have you ”on board”,

Nice ending on both, the slow down in some places, from about 2,21 sweet love, from about 2,38 shine.
The accompanying guitar pan left, could perhaps be heard a little more in sweet love, which is the case, a little bit, in shine some places (these only my personal taste, thinking)
The sound and reverb in lead guitar is perfect.

I liked Be blue  too, and especially Behind each door, because of its slower tempo, and a bit different.

It is interesting and nice, that one can often tell whose music you are listening to, without checking first (Gaston, budo, kencarlino, Dez, kc Paul Li, ctdeupre, pianoteqenthusiast a s o

Always my best to you,

Stig

BTW, did you read my answer to your comment killing in this thread...?

Re: Roadhouse Jazz - New Album (Guitars)

i thought these tracks were great.  excellent grooves!  certainly i wouldn't call them blues, i think jazz is more appropriate.  like the interplay of all the instruments.

Stig, ahh yes I did miss your reply on the killing me post, listened and replied now, thanks for pointing it out, made me smile!

Thanks for the feedback and hints! Yeah I feel like I am constantly tweaking the balance of instruments in the mix and while a mix might be right for one song sometimes it's not idea for another. I'm a bit stubborn in my approach and try to have an "idea" and want to be able to create an entire album from the idea where that idea is the arrangement of all the instruments. I even started to think (perhaps rightfully so) that I am not hearing so good in one ear compared to other or that my headphones are not balanced so good, so I have tried flipping my headphones from time to time to see if it sounds different    Seriously thanks for having a listen and your comments!

Budo, thanks for the feedback!! Yeah I listened back again and you are right, definitely more jazz than blues, I think I felt that initially because some of the tracks were slower than my previous ones and more subdued I think.
