Topic: K2 related to GX6 maybe?

Hi,

I've been tweaking the K2 piano a lot these last days and I've come to a quite rich sound that is close to a Kawai grand and since the strings here are 211cm I assumed it would be a baby grand (6 or 7 feet), a GX6 maybe?

Anyone who shares my thought?

Modartt have been clear on this.
Unlike the very old K1 the K2 model is not based on any single one piano. Instead it is their own invention, based on the ideal  physical properties of multiple different pianos.

People sure talk up the K2...might be my next instrument.

It is good but I more or less stated what Modartt say themselves in the product blurb:
"The K2 Grand Piano is developed especially for Pianoteq. It is not based on any specific model but created from scratch by the Modartt virtual piano factory, combining the best elements of several source pianos."

I've been using it lately and was stunned by how much I love it. Absolutely beautiful!

Re: K2 related to GX6 maybe?

The K2 is a fantastic piano, full of possibilities and I enjoy it a lot. It's my to go option along with the YC5, what a beautiful sound.

I wish Modartt made more Yamahas, even they're not "authorised"

I love the YC5, too, even more since the revoicing for PTQ8. That was a significant upgrade.

Ptq U4 probably also has its roots in Yamaha (Yamaha u1 u2 u3 pianos) I like the whole 21 presets that you can edit if you want. And - In the microphones section (Standard and Pro version) you can set the distance to the nearest wall. Nice
A good upright piano.

Best wishes,

Stig

Me too, as I said in another thread, I'm loving "K2 Warm". It's been my favorite. To be used on stage, live with the band, it works very well, as it has a striking, strong and very clear sound.

I also love the K2 Warm and use it almost exclusively nowadays. It's also perfect for classical. I do change the string length to 227 cm and use an external reverb.
