Topic: Failed activation after upgrade to Pianoteq 8 standard

I recently upgrader from Pianoteq 5 stage to 8 standard. I installed the 8 version on the same computer on which I run the 5 version.
At the first run, Pianoteq asked me to activate: I provided the serial, and pushed "quick activation" button, but the message said I've already reached the max number of computers, listing my computer as if it were a different one. It says to free one slot by deactivating a pc: but I want to run the program on the very same machine that is already active.
I tried also the manual activation, but I get a very similar message, on a web page.
the Pianoteq 5 runs correctly: I did the license upgrade routine within Pianoteq 5: still no success.

I contacted Pianoteq support, but no answer yet (it's been 3 days now: no feedback from them, not even an automatic message saying my request was received). Waiting from them, maybe someone here managed to solve the same problem (a search on the forum gave no useful result).
Any suggestion?
Thank you in advance
Mario

I think in your user area you can deactivate your computer. It's possible an OS upgrade or SSD installation changed its ID. Just delete the old one so you have an activation to spare.

That way he will lose Pianoteq 5 though. Does the user area indicate 3 computers?

Where do I find a list of all posts I upvoted? :(

(yes, all 3 slots where busy)
I got answer from support: they cleared all slots and now I managed to run version 8 (which is amazing!)
Thank you all for your help :-)

Re: Failed activation after upgrade to Pianoteq 8 standard

Hello,

I just got the same issue.

I changed my computer a few days ago and tried to activate each version of Pianoteq I need on a daily basis (5, 6, 7 and 8) but the activation system regarded my computer as two computers (one for Pianoteq 5, and an other one for 6, 7 and 8). I tried to get around the problem by desactivating and then reactivating the licenses (there's a little delay to do it) and now I can't run Pianoteq anymore (which means I cannot work at all anymore, which is very very annoying)

I contacted the support and I really hope they will help me to reactivate my computer. But I still wonder whether it is possible to run Pianoteq 5, 6, 7 and 8 on a single slot / computer (I need the remaining slots for my two laptops ).

Did you manage to use the same slot for Pianoteq 5 and Pianoteq 8 or did you have to use two slots for that?
