Topic: want to buy used License

Hello,

last November there was some "Black Friday" Sales with Modartt, as it seems frequently every year.

I just got into the idea of learning to play Piano, and back in November I wasnt sure if I should already buy some License without actually owning some MIDI Keyboard.
Now I kinda regret it, as I expected back than already, because the idea hooked me and everytime I went to a store or a friends place I get quite excited to "press some Keys" (I wouldnt call it playing yet ).

Now I had some great luck and could purchase some old Thomann DP-50 Keyboard (Wooden Keys, weighted Hammer Action, I think 2 sensors, no Let-Off) for just 150€ and want to start learning.
Another 50€ went into some Keyboard Online Lesson, so my budget is already quite empty.

I considered asking Modartt if they would offer me the Stage License for the same price like back in November, and they kindly replied that they would offer me some 5% discount, but I actually dont see myself beeing able to spend ~133€ onto the licensce (no income, Christmas and Birthday money is already spend on the rest).

That is why I wanted to ask if anyone wants to sell his used license, like Pianoteq 8 Stage, for the ~80€ that Modartt asked for?
I also would be happy with some Pianoteq 7 Version as well, if I could get that version a little bit cheaper?

Im not sure if the License is for every operating system, if not and its limited to one OS, I would require it for Linux or as VST.

Thanks

Re: want to buy used License

I have 2 licenses.. one I never use .. has Petrof AP275 + P284, Steinway Model D and Classical Guitar ...just sayin'

Pianoteq 8, most pianos, Studiologic 73 Piano, Casio Px-560M, PX-S 3000, PX-S 1100, PX-S 7000, Mac i27 and MacBook Pro M3, SS Logic SSL 2

Re: want to buy used License

Hello Vepece, I could use the coupon I won in the Pianoteq Video Contest (200 €), buy such a license and then pass it to you (for free). I just don't know if it's allowed (? - a question for Modartt).

My prize coupon/code can be used only once and although I am *very* happy with my 3rd prize, I already have Pianoteq pro license and all pianos I want. Maybe, by the way, I would buy K2 or some historical piano, for example, to use the entire coupon.

Re: want to buy used License

Hello,

wow - thats already too much!

@Kramster1:
How much would you like to charge for it?

@MaurizioP
I would feel bad if I accept it as a gift free of charge! I should at least pay you some amount, so you can get another piano at another point!
So feel free too and quote me how much you would like to charge me?

I got to say that I applied just yesterday for the academic discount, and have no reply yet by Modartt but would like to wait for them because I feel bad already now as if I would "play 3 fractions" against each other even when Ive done nothing bad...

Honestly: Saving every penny would worth it to me as studying does not come for free too - but I would be very happy to have a win-win situation for all sides instead of only receiving an advantage for my side.

Thanks alot,
and shout out to the community, Im really humbled by your kindness!

I understand your dilemma, but as I said, my coupon can only be used once. If, for example, I bought some new Pianoteq instrument (and I already have all the ones I wanted), the rest of the coupon value would remain unused. Instead of worrying about it, I could simply be glad I helped someone learn to play piano :-)

Re: want to buy used License

Wow! That is a generous offer! Vepece, what are you waiting for? You can get Pianoteq Stage with one more model (three total) or Standard, if you add €69, also with three models.

And again, congrats to you MaurizioP on winning the third price, really liked your contribution.

I dont think that it would be fair to use up all his discount and get the Standard License just for myself.

I would already be quite happy with the Stage License!

@MaurizioP: After sleeping a night over it I think saving every penny I can fits my situation actually pretty good right now (expensive month with all the insurances, so this month means Soy and Rice for a few days ), and if you are really up to it feel free to send me an email with the Serial Number (I guess its how it works, seeing the Modartt FAQ).

"How can I purchase a licence as a gift for someone?
You can purchase a licence for another person, and then let that person register the licence in his/her name and email address. After purchase, just forward the serial number you receive and the registration link: https://www.modartt.com/user_registration"

I also was thinking to cover the additional 37€ if you want to buy 2 Instrument Packs for yourself (139 + 49 + 49 = 237€), so add your PayPal Adress in the private mail please

Cheers!

OK, so we have the agreement :-) I will buy a Stage Licence for you and one instrument for me, so no extra payment will be needed. I will email you the serial number.
If it's okay, I'll do it calmly tomorrow (must yet think which instrument to buy ;-).
Regards, MaurizioP

Re: want to buy used License

Hey,

waiting patiently for your email did worth it
Im sitting here with a slight smile and enjoy some MIDI files for tonight on the Bechstein DG D 282 Instrument Pack I choose to activate

I got to say: Lucky me!
Thank you for your support! I still hope that I can invite you for some Wine or Sake some day. So call me when you are in Berlin and like to play a little bit on Pianoteq!

Cheers and some warm hug to you!

Re: want to buy used License

Congrats on getting the Bechstein, excellent choice. What was the other model you got?

Hey,

actually I choose the Bechstein as main Piano - with my hearing and headset it sounded the best, as I like the "clear" sound of it.
As second instrument pack I choose the Steinway D, but I dont like it too much. It was more a "cmon, you got to take the Steinway when its available" choice. It sounds a little bit dull to me, so I dont like it too much.
I would have actually liked to pick the E-Pianos because of the music I listen to and the idea of playing these kind of music for learning Piano, but was gambling if the free CP-80 will suit my needs and rather picked the Steinway D.

I am in doubt what I would pick next,
actually,
I like the Kremsegg 2 Bechstein 440 and considered this.
I hope I wont be bashed for skipping the Petrof Pack as "more important".

But time will tell, lets see.

Cheers

Re: want to buy used License

Thanks, some are not too fond of the Steinway D duo, don't know why. I like them, in part because so many performances on YouTube, are recorded with Steinways (real ones), and I feel I can get a sound close enough to some of those recordings. I have Standard, but I mostly just use the unchanged presets.

I don't know much about the Petrofs, some swear by them, but the Kremsegg 2 collection is indeed interesting, especially the Bechstein 1899, as you've discovered already. Happy playing.
