Topic: Pianoteq is an excellent harpsichord

A nice French piece, and above all, a great exercise for my organist fingers - playing the harpsichord fast (that is, without using the sustain pedal, as in a piano) on a great, heavy, wooden, full-size Viscount digital piano keyboard.
The sound physically modeled from a small computer/tablet, visible in the background video, thanks to Pianoteq corresponds to the acoustic original.

Nice management of ornaments.

Hello rumburak and my congratulations to second place in contest

Which harpsichord are you using? It is very nice sounding. I tried to get your sound using different harpsichords and virginals (I can see the word virginal on your keyboard). And different reverbs but impossible to even come close....or do you have combinations....

Best wishes,

Stig

What a great performance - congratulations! You play very well with interesting ornaments and fingering. In fact Pianoteq's clavicembalo is as convincing, as piano.

It reminded me of when I used to play a few Rameau pieces (including "l'Egyptienne") - I still have midi recordings in a slightly romantic style ;-). I'm sure if Rameau had a piano at his disposal, he would have played it.
I have rendered this one on Pianoteq's Steingraeber Bright (although recorded years ago on my digital Kawai):

I think Rameau is an underestimated composer among pianists, after all we play Bach and Scarlatti composed for harpsichord (although Scarlatti has already played on the first Silbermann's pianos).

Anyway, Rameau's works also sound great on the piano and are an excellent school of technique and sound for pianists.
