Topic: One step beyond binaural experience

The binaural experience in Pianoteq 8 is already very good and provides a truly immersive sensation with good headphones.
Has Pianoteq considered a version that supports Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 ? Since it’s adoption by Apple , this is growing at a tremendous pace .

I imagine what the rendition of pianoteq in a room with a true state of the art Atmos system would be like . I think , it would blew away the competitors for a while and would be a serious challenge for NV5 type of pianos .

I have never heard the 7.1.4 atmos system but it seems to me that the binaural system with head tracking would already be a huge progress towards realism. The current "binaural" presets are very good but the sound remains globally between the ears and it is very difficult to mentally project it in front of you (at the piano location). Many psychoacoustic studies have shown that sound spatialization is not only due to the position of the ears and the shape of the pinnae, but also to the head movements of the listener (even weak and involuntary) and to visualization.
Playing mainly with headphones this is a subject that interests me a lot and I'm currently playing with a plugin reproducing the sound of studio monitors with head tracking (nx waves Abbey Road Studio+ BT head tracker). The effect is amazing and I often feel like I don't have headphones anymore and that the sound is coming out of my monitors.

I was not aware of the BT head tracker system but that’s a good concept . Indeed the final building block of the sound reproduction is actually one area where tremendous progress could be made as it was somehow left behind in recent years , because of the huge percentage of people mainly listening music on mobile phones  with average earbuds
