Topic: Pianoteq 8 Standard - really a bargain at 25%
Was watching a comparison video for numerous sampled piano libraries, and just realized that PTQ 8 Std, really is a bargain. At least with the 25% discount, but maybe even without it.
Sampled piano VSTs at 200 euros or dollars, are what we could call the higher range libraries, when it comes to prices, and there are a lot of them. Some of them are great, like Garritan CFX, which I have, and the Ravenscroft (which I don't have).
Maybe $/€200 piano is a midrange price, and the high end starts at $/€250, not sure, but it doesn't matter. The VSL instruments for sure are in the high end price range, and they're probably very good.
Still, if we get one of those 200+ $/€ piano VSTs, it's only one instrument we get. Granted, it may be very tweakable, but so is Pianoteq, maybe more so. Plus, I got three piano models of my choice, plus all the old historic piano models in the free (for license owners) category.
I'm glad I got it, feel like I can get a very wide array of different piano sounds out of it, with the microphone choices, morphing, layers, adaptable string length, and what not.
