Topic: Red Damper Area in the VST... what is it ?

Does anyone know what is the little red dot appearing in the velocity panel, near the fff? when you drag this point to the right, a line and a "damper area" appears...
Only find it in the plugin version it seams...
Thanks
It is not visible at opening of vst. It appears when you select a velocity curve preset .

That's the 'sustained notes damping' area, you can drag it. Low velocity notes that fall in this area while the sustain pedal is pressed will be damped. It was introduced at some point in Pianoteq for mallet damping on vibraphones. By default it is turned off, you can disable it by clicking on the "VELOCITY" header, you will find it in the menu.

Thanks for the explanation, I had actually seen this function in V7... However it seems that in the VST plugin the "low velocity note-on" and "aftertouch" functions are activated as soon as you change the velocity curve. I'm not sure if this is intended...

I can't reproduce that here -- which host are you using and how are you changing the velocity curve ?

I use Studio One and I notice today that the phenomenon only occurs if I have in the same project a pianoteq 7 and a pianoteq 8 occurrence, if I select in the V8 velocity menu a factory curve preset the lines "low velocity note-on" and "Aftertouch" are automatically checked and the little red dot appears in the graph.

Thanks ! Now I understand whats going on...

If you download version 8.0.2 now, the red dot should be gone.
