Topic: Pianoteq 8
Hi, I use pianoteq 8 Try variation. Can someone tell me what the difference is between the Try and license variations? (except that some of the pliers don't work and I have a limit of 20 minutes in the Try variation)

"Restrictions in trial versions:
8 notes are disabled (silent): F#1, G#1, A#1, C#5, D#5, F#5, G#5 and A#5.
Must be restarted after 20 minutes."
That's it.

So basically it's a highly accurate model of the old $20 upright I learned to play on, it had the same disabled keys (missing hammers).

I would add, though to most but maybe not all people it may already be obvious: One other main difference is that the Try/Demo version allows use of all the instruments. A purchased/licensed version of Pianoteq will include only those piano instruments that you choose when you buy the license (2 allowed with Stage, 3 with Standard, 4 with Pro) or buy individually to add on to your existing Pianoteq license.

Haha, maybe you will want to keep a demo version on the drive for nostalgia?
Load up U4 and you're away!
I don't know. I purchased the upgrade, but can't log into the user-area on the computer actually running Pianoteq 7.5.4 and it also says I'm running the latest version.
Upgrading Pianoteq is sometimes a hassle, and other times it isn't.
Running Linux on the machine running Pianoteq.

Contact support if you've lost your login details.
You have to log out and log back in in order to download 8 anyway. It's a bug.
If you are logged out without your password you won't have to do that as you're already logged out. When you get your password sorted you'll be able to log back in and download it.
Maybe you have saved your password on another browser?
You can see the download file. You can see that 8 is registered to your account, but when you click on the download file it won't let you do so. The remedy it turns out is to logout and log back in.

Exactly!
I'd recommend an old clunker like that to any new piano student, it's a great way to learn (via necessity) alternate fingerings and slash chords.

So if we don't buy the Guitar Instrument pack, the Classical Guitar will no longer appear in the Pianoteq 8 upgrade?

All instruments also appear in Pianoteq 8. The instruments that are not purchased are in the demo section with the known restrictions.
