Topic: Syndrome (Pianoteq)

here's a solo piano version of a tune by Carla Bley, Syndrome.  this is one of many tunes she's written over her long career, and is one of here enigmatic early tunes.  most jazz piano players know it from Paul Bley's album Footloose!, which was one of the most influential piano trio albums of all time (some compare its influence to that of Bill Evans's Explorations and Chick Corea's Now He Sings, Now He Sobs).  anyway i've always loved this tune.

What good music this is. Great stuff. She is a phenomenal female jazz composer and musician.
Someone said that Carla Bley always attracted the best musicians to play her works. Well, then this music is for you. Your playing sounds so great and there are so many nice interesting small sections in part 3.00 - 4,00. Like them much.

Carla Bley was in my country, Finland 1978 and conducted her band at Pori Jazz Festival.
Pori Jazz is a large international jazz festival, held annually during the month of July in the coastal city of Pori  (a population of about 83000, 200 kilometers south of my town Vasa).
It is one of the oldest and best known jazz festivals in Europe, having been arranged every year since 1966.

thank you so much for listening.  i really appreciate it.  she is indeed a great musician.  i have a thick book of her lead sheets so possibly i will try more
