Topic: Feature request: Mute button

If you use Pianoteq standalone in a live-setting it would be very handy to be able to quickly mute the output of PT when you want to use another program, e.g. grand artist, a B3-emulation or synth.
Thanks!

Re: Feature request: Mute button

Why not use a different MIDI channel for those other synths? Then you just change the MIDI channel on your MIDI controller when you want to play another sound?

Hard work and guts!

Yes, that works, but not really handy in all circumstances, for instance when your keyboard isn't very handy at controlling stuff.
Another reason: Pianoteq is automatically recording MIDI, if the output is muted, this still works.

Re: Feature request: Mute button

In theory you must use a vst host as Cantabile, Digital performer, VIP Akay etc. for control many vsti.

Re: Feature request: Mute button

would also ask for the button "mute"

Re: Feature request: Mute button

My workaround for the lack of mute button is to make preset of a zero-velocity curve which I use to mute pianoteq.  Does not mute the pedal noises, but they are not loud.  Its relatively easy to switch back and forth  between velocity curve presets to turn PT on/off.   Mute button would of course be better.

Re: Feature request: Mute button

two alternative options:
- make a midimapping that toggles the "Volume" parameter between "Off" and "0 dB", assign it to a key of your MIDI keyboard
- use the Alt-D shortcut to disconnect/reconnect Pianoteq from the soundcard (but then it wont be recording the MIDI anymore when disconnected)

Re: Feature request: Mute button

+1 on mute.  It's a PITA to drag volume down to 0 when I want to mute.

Re: Feature request: Mute button

+2 on Mute.  My keyboard is an acoustic piano with a stop bar that has a quick-action lever.  I wish that I had a button in Pianoteq to do the same thing, which would make my various comparisons between acoustic and Pianoteq easier to accomplish.

Re: Feature request: Mute button

+3 Mute button.

I'm using Kawai VPC-1 Keyboard and Pianoteq is my "everyday" source of piano sound when I just want playing or try a new idea. Whan I run Cubase, Live or whatever I need to shut the piano quickly in order to work only the sound in the DAW. But sometime It's convenient to reactive it quckly to try something with a clear sound before record it with the dedicated sound.

Of cours I can open a DAW but it's too much just for play randomly and it's borring to add a piano at every project just having the sound avalaible knowing I'm not using it in the song but I prefere piano sound to try idea because the sound is unerstandable in anycase (not always easy to hear precisely what you play with granulated looped athmospheric slow padding noisy strings with full reverb, ping pong delay and fuzz distortion).

Re: Feature request: Mute button

another vote for a mute button. i like to have pianoteq standalone open but when working on my daw i sometimes have to close it depending on what else I've got going on (eg. using midi controllers). would be convenient to be able to mute it instead
