Charpentier - Prelude   Eurovision song contest theme song

The Prelude to Charpentier’s ‘Te Deum’ has opened Eurovision song contest for over sixty years.
In the late 1600s, French Baroque composer Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643 - 1704) wrote his grand polyphonic motet Te Deum. And although he authored six settings, only four of them have survived.

Well, a monumental melody. And - french music, french organ     The Recit Drawknob #6 Cornet, is perfect for this piece. I like it with much reverb in Cathedral

Ooh very spacious sound!

Rumor has it that a seventh, almost unknown, setting was found as recent as 3 years ago

Haha, wel spotted
It stems from a time where I had a fascination with writing canons (including "crab" canons and "table" canons).
