Topic: Elogie (Pianoteq)

a composition by the great Bud Powell, not from the actual real book, but it should be!  i was really surprised by this tune.  it doesn't sound at all like the classic Bud Powell tunes every jazz player knows (like Hallucinations, Un Poco Loco, etc).  instead it really sounds like it could have been written by a more modern player, like McCoy Tyner.  really fun to play!

Re: Elogie (Pianoteq)

I'm not keen on the sound, but the piece and the playing rock. Nice !

Ed : OT, but did you listen to Eric Watson (Silent Hearts album) ? I had sent you a PM...

Well, this time it is full speed from start to finish - brilliant playing budo. I can really feel that you had fun doing this. Budo at his best.
The sound is a bit different from earlier pieces, sounds a bit, well, not distorted sound but maybe a little little bit harsh some places…..
Anyway, I could enjoy your playing. Actually extremely skilful playing Thank you budo.

Best wishes,

thank you!  i guess the sound must be too harsh.  maybe i should have dialed it back a bit.  tbh i don't really understand much at all about the subtleties of producing a good recording.  i just hope for the best.

i didn't get a PM afaik (but i don't know where it would go anyway).  but yesterday i checked him out and he's a fantastic piano player.  thank you for letting me know about him, i will definitely listen to more.  i'm always glad to learn about a cool new player.

thank you, i really appreciate it.  i think i need someone who knows what they're doing to help.  i don't really know anything about producing excellent recordings and usually just hope for the best
