Topic: Feature request: MTS-ESP for Organteq (user-defined dynamic tunings)

Could you perhaps add to Organteq support for the new MTS-ESP dynamic microtuning by ODDSound (https://oddsound.com/index.php)? Pianoteq already supports it, but tunings are even more important for an organ (due to the sustained tones, possibly bright timbres and historically).

MTS-ESP would also clearly go beyond what is possible with a standard/static tuning setting (like Scala file import directly into the plugin). For example, the protocol makes it possible to change in one go the tuning for all plugins of a DAW project supporting this protocol. No need to set up each instrument individually! Even better, MTS-ESP allows to change on the fly the tuning of all instruments. For example, one can play in just intonation and still freely modulate by changing the tuning during the course of the piece, controlled by MIDI messages (set to a central master plugin changing in realtime the tuning of all instruments of a DAW project). Various other realtime changes to tunings are possible as well, and Scala file import is implicit for free. Having such capabilities with a pipe organ would be really great!

Because of such possibilities, quite a bunch of electronic instruments are already supporting this standard (https://oddsound.com/usingmtsesp.php). Besides, all instruments supporting MPE are covered as well. There are so many companies already supporting MTS-ESP, because that is something easy to add. FYI, Michael Hetrick (http://mhetrick.com/) from Unfiltered Audio (https://www.unfilteredaudio.com/) mentioned on the Elektronauts forum: "The MTS-ESP implementation is probably the easiest third-party library I’ve ever dealt with. It took less than fifteen minutes to add, and worked on the first compile. I’m pretty smitten with it." (https://www.elektronauts.com/t/mts-esp-...n/151114/8).

Organteq could be the first pipe organ supporting a dynamic tuning!

Thank you!

Best wishes,
Torsten Anders
