Topic: From CLP-675 via Midi TO HOST USB to Pianoteq-Laptop + Audio Interface
Hi,
I tested Pianoteq 7.5x last night and was blown away by the quality improvement over Pianoteq 6.
I use my Yamaha CLP-675 as a Midi-Controller, connecting via USB-B from the Midi To Host socket via USB cable to USB-A on my Pianoteq-Laptop.
I chose the [x] CLP digital piano under devices in the Pianoteq UI.
It works. The sound from the Laptop already arrives back in CLP's very good speaker system, without any further configuration. I still need to silence the CLP's tone generator today.
( I will press the function key serveral times to get to MIDI > Local Control > OFF, and switch local control OFF. ) I will do that tonight.
The latency of the audio card in my Pianoteq-Laptop could be something to deal with in the future, so I wondered, how I would hook up an audio interface, let's say the Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 3rd Gen (USB), to my system. Can I just connect it via USB-B to USB-A cable to the Pianoteq-Laptop and select this audio interface as the audio card for output in the Piantoq UI? Will the sound from the external audio interface then automatically be played back to the Yamaha CLP speaker system?
I just want to check, before I buy a 200 bucks audio interface ;-)
Many thanks for your advice.
