Topic: Django (Pianoteq)

another real book tune.  this is a lovely composition by John Lewis in honor of the great guitarist Django Reinhardt.  it has a somewhat Baroque like progression, with the same kind of cycle of fifths business as in Autumn Leaves.

(incidentally i wanted to post something else but it was blocked by Youtube ... think they unrolled new community guidelines monitoring software that identified my vid as being in violation ... i have no idea why)

Re: Django (Pianoteq)

Indeed, the cycle of fifths, always effective. Lovely piece, yes. Something latin sometimes and moody.

As concerns YT, its policy is weird...

Re: Django (Pianoteq)

Amazing, can I hear a bit Bach/Händel in some way? Yes, It’s little reminiscent of circle of fifths (The circle of fifths progression was a stalwart of the Baroque era in music. We can find many examples of this progression in the music of Bach, Handel…….)

And as always, the last 20 seconds - beautiful.
This bring me so much -  comfort, solace, reassurance: Soothes the Soul (As did your piece Maybe) I said then that ….I’s a true example of flawless….well I can say the same about this piece.
You can read the rest in my comment on Maybe if you have time    I don’t write it twice.

Best wishes,

thank you for listening, i appreciate it!  yes i have no idea what the problem was with my other track.  but i'll try again to release it and see what happens.  it's a good thing there's no tune in the real book called Make Money Fast or something like that
