here's another performance from the Real Book, this time a tune by Keith Jarrett "Grow Your Own." this is one of those tunes in the book that never gets performed by anyone (certainly i've never played it at a session or gig). but i loved the album it's on as a kid, and wore out my copy. wish it were revisited more often!

Intro minute - kind of violent, like it much
Section 2,30 - 3,50 ” tough” with good speed and interesting, like a champion boxer (was thinking love this section!
And then the wonderful contrast from 4,20 - end like thunder storms on one end of an island (2,30 - 3,50) and clear, blue skies on the other end…from 4,20-end. Well, you know, I’m always see pictures when listening I wonder what people would say if I painted a painting for each piece of music you play and attached it to my comment (but, we experience music so different) Hartman painted paintings for Mussorgsky's music……

thank you so much for listening and for your comments. i also really enjoy the 3rd part of this tune (part C). in fact when i was a kid i would play it over and over again ... i think i drove my family crazy but Keith Jarrett was and is one of my idols so i couldn't get enough of trying to make it sound like what he was doing ...
