Topic: A demonstration of different temperament (Music scale tuning system)

Just make a short video, playing a short clip with different temperaments.

Thank you, k c Paul Li, for showing this. I have not found Vallotti&Young before. Now I'll use it for a while. I can hear a difference from equal, seems fuller or more space or how should I say…… it is different. Have to use it now some time and then go back to equal for evaluating the differens. Very interesting how the sound changes. Always learning new things in this sub-forum too. Thanks!

Best wishes,

Stig

Good demo. Of course we're not limited to the preset tunings that come with Pianoteq. We also have access to the HUGE Scala archive: https://www.huygens-fokker.org/scala/downloads.html (see bottom of page). For general use I particularly like the Hummel tunings - they're very close to ET but with just a bit more character. Other tunings I like include Broadwood, Ellis and Jousse (hehe, sounds like a firm of solicitors ).

Pianoteq has these build-in temperaments, and it has the ability to import scala files. So, we can have unlimited ways to express our musical idea.  Good job, Pianoteq, and thanks.
