Once Upon a Time (No 1 from”Lyric Pieces” Op 71) Edvard Grieg
I think this is a wonderful little lyric piano piece by E Grieg (died 4.9 1907).
As usual I experimented with different sound combinations/stops and found some ”new” sounds that I think fit this piece of music. Glad I found an organ transcription.
As a little idea, you can try playing with a sound one octave higher than the notes indicate.
The melody, mostly, is in that way, with Quintaton 16 played one octave higher than the notes indicate.
Lyric piece:
A short instrumental compisition that is typically very expressive and melodic and often represents personal feelings and moods.
Lyric pieces is a collection of 66 short pieces by Edvard Grieg. They were published in 10 volumes. Once Upon a Time is from book X, Op 71.
I enjoy very much listening to this piece over and over again.
The pictures are from my country, Finland, photographed in early February outside my City's archipelago. The winter is sometimes cold but the nature is beautiful.
The bridge in 2 pictures, in the background, is Finland's longest.
I hope you enjoy this music.
Edit: I try to play a bit faster, a bit slower, very expressive, to get the mood and feelings……
Edit 2. I still insist on saying that my music often sounds better with headphones as I always have to use them when recording
