Topic: Beneath It All (Gary Anderson)

a very obscure tune from the real book.  from what i could find out, Anderson was a Berklee student at the same time the book was produced.  this piece was written for a student recital, and i guess the authors of RB enjoyed it enough to include it, alongside the works of much more famous people.  Anderson has had a very successful career in the music industry, as a composer, orchestrator, producer, music director, you name it.  as far as i know, this tune has never been professionally recorded, just occasional amateur recordings like yours truly.  but it's a fun tune with a lot of charm, imo.

Re: Beneath It All (Gary Anderson)

Again, wow! Like those chords in beginning. There are so many short wonderful parts in this your playing……a short melodic phrase is played and then repeted at a higher and higher level of pitch or lower again and again. Several patterns and the same thing. The music waves back and forth with softer feeling some places…what can i say….very enjoyable  budo performance again. Depending on the piece, your playing is everytime a little bit different and that’s why it’s so interesting to listen

For some reason I stopped by the name of the song and its meaning because Swedish is my language. What does it mean?
Beneath It All is the first EP by American pop punk band Hey Monday
And, secondary to, not good enough for, lower in status than, not as important as, unsuitable for, inappropriate for… to describe the position of things which are at a lower level than something else

Anyway, thank you budo for your music.

Best wishes,

Re: Beneath It All (Gary Anderson)

thank you so much for your comments.  regarding the title of the tune, i'm not sure what he had in mind myself.  but i think it could mean something like the hidden meaning in things.  i.e. the meaning that lies beneath everything.  but i'm just guessing
