B. Bartók Mikrokosmos book 6 From the Diary of a Fly

I think the piece is an example of Bartok’s humor. People play this very fast, but I’m old and play a bit slower and maybe my fly is old and fly slower too...

Mikrokosmos consists of 153 progressive piano pieces in six volumes. The individual pieces progress from very easy and simple beginner études to very difficult advanced technical displays, In total, according to Bartók, the piece "appears as a synthesis of all the musical and technical problems which were treated and in some cases only partially solved in the previous piano works." Volumes one and two are dedicated to his son Péter.

Volumes five and six are intended as professionally performable concert pieces. Books 3- 6 has been played also on harpsichord. (Wikipedia)

I think my performance is not at all a professional performance. I'm an amateur, but it was a nice try. Enjoyed it.

Best wishes,

Stig

Stig, this is great! I like your tempo. It's not too slow at all. I remember hearing my college piano teacher Edward Kilenyi play this and he might have played it even slower.

Enjoyed this a lot!

Take care,
Robert
