Topic: expression pedal values 0-99 do not correspond with 0-1

hi,
i assigned an expression pedal to my keyboards sustain, but the pedal midi signal reads from 0-99, while pianoteq seems to expect values from 0-127.

the easy fix seems to set the pedal's range in the midi options to something like "0 - 1.28"
but the software doesn't allow a value greater than 1

any idea how to fix this, please?

(i will get myself a audiofront midi expression io in the near future, which allows calibration of these values - but for now i would like to find a temporary fix)

there is a pedal calibration menu in the velocity menu pane (you have to click on the little arrows next to "Velocity" to get to it).  you should be able to get the midi values interpreted however you like with that.

oh, that's amazing!
and it turns out that the default setting is already set to be maximum at 95 - in other words it was working fine already

(and by default the pedal needs to be pressed down 25% to have any effect - i assume that's based on real pedal behaviour?)

That's right. The default pedal response is to translate MIDI values 25-95 to 0-127, so 25-95 produces the full range of sustain pedal movement and effect, which of course can be changed by editing the Pedal velocity curve.
