Minor feature request: A shortcut to press & release the sustain pedal

Often, when editing notes away from my MIDI keyboard, I want to hear the sustained note. If I have the Mics page showing, or any Note edit window open, it obscures the image of the pedal, so I must close or drag off the Mics page or Note edit pane, and click on the image of the pedal.

Would it be nice to be able to assign a short-cut key or combination that would press and, and when we're later ready, release the pedal? The PgDn button? Or Alt-P?
