Topic: Pianoteq note sounding weak

Specifically the E note of the 5th octave and above sounds very weak, in addition to its related frequencies.

This only happens on the Petrof presets though, the Steinway D sounds consistent. Anyone else can confirm this and whether it can be considered a bug?

I'm using Pianoteq Stage.

Re: Pianoteq note sounding weak

Do you mean the Mistral version of the Petrof? I think I hear what you mean on the Prelude preset, but the default Warm preset sounds fine. Would just raising the volume on those notes help on the Prelude preset, or raising the gain on the mic on those strings?

Yes, the Mistral version. I hear it on the warm preset as well and since I have the stage version, I can't raise the note volume.

Edit- Checking on the VU meter, I can confirm it's a real issue with the Mistral preset. The middle range of the fifth octave, as well as the E notes of the higher octaves, sounds obviously weaker.

Edit2- Interestingly, on my side, the Prelude sounds the same. Check the VU meter.

Re: Pianoteq note sounding weak

No problem for me. Maybe something related to your keyboard ?

Here is a quick test recorded with Mistral Warm :

I did the VU meter test using the virtual keyboard, striking the keys on the same position/velocity.

Which version of Pianoteq do you have? Play or Standard?

Re: Pianoteq note sounding weak

I have the Stage version.

I don't have the Sage version, so I have no way to try to reproduce the problem. Anyone else here use the Stage version? Do you hear a similar problem?
