Topic: Change Instrument of Custom Preset?

Likely this question has been asked before, but I could not find an answer - so apologies in advance . . .

I created my own customized preset - I'm happy with it but for one thing.   The underlying piano that I started off with was a Grand YC5 which sounds  - at least to my aging ears anyway - BA style (low notes pan more to left, etc).    I would like to try switching to some other instrument which is AB but I cannot see any mechanism to do this.   Of course I can always re-enter everything from scratch, but that approach is error prone and is a last resort.

I tried poking around in the fxp file.  While you can see the string "Grand YC5" in there, the file is in some sort of internal format and I would be very hesitant to mess around with it.

Am I overlooking something obvious?

Re: Change Instrument of Custom Preset?

I believe you're looking for the parameter freeze option.  That will allow you to lock your customizations and apply them to another core piano (if I understand your need correctly).  You can also, if you're running Standard or Pro, layer pianos for a similar effect.

That was it.   Thanks!
