Topic: Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

Hi.

Today we celebrate the "Lucia" tradition in Sweden. My girlfriend is an organist and last night they had a Lucia concert in the church where she works. Besides traditional Lucia songs they also played "The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" by Tchaikovsky. Since they don't have an acoustic celeste I installed Pianoteq on her computer and think it turned out quite well. I think the Chromatic percussion instrument pack in Pianoteq is pretty great (although the recording quality of my iPhone isn't that great):

Amazing! Beautiful, I'm totally impressed. The Celeste sound - and the orchestra and the dancing.
Thanks for sharing this!

btw  I know ”Lucia”. Jag har ackompanjerat i över 30 Luciaprogram då jag var lärare

Best wishes,

Stig

KUL! Jag är också lärare och har kompat min beskärda del av luciatåg:) (continuing in english).

I'm glad you liked it. I think it blends very well with the orchestra, even if the celeste is a bit loud on this recording. Next time I'll try to do a proper recording. And maybe it will be a opportunity to use Pianoteqs concert harp with the orchestra too, that would be interesting to hear.
