Visualization in Advanced tuning

Hi all,

I'm fascinated by the circular frequency visualization in the advanced tuning section!

Can anybody tell me where/how I might find out more about how it works, from an audio > graphics point of view...

I'm interested in what language it was programmed in and what parameters of the audio / midi are being addressed.
