Wow budo, that was amazing as usual. You have a natural affinity/relationship for these chorale improvisations. Excellent musicianship! Great technique and chord harmonics. Bach is also smiling.

Another jewel, I hadn't heard this before. Nice jazz waltz.
How long have you been playing? Who gave you lessons? How could you reach this level of virtuosity, great technical skill in music? You know I can play a bit Bach and such, but not budo music, impro. I still think it's not too late to learn new things (Rubinstein gave concert at age 89, blind) and I have some years to 80

thank you for your kind comments. i really appreciate it. regarding your questions, i started when i was about 10 and was lucky enough to have a first teacher that was into jazz and taught me some basics about improvisation early on. one thing she had me do was take Christmas carols (e.g. Silent Night) and play them in different styles, like a waltz, funeral march, boogie woogie, ... (she showed me some simple patterns to use in the left hand for this, nothing too fancy but still good enough to get me really interested in it). i had some other teachers later. the last one was really a genius at jazz harmony and i still feel like i'm learning things from what he told me. and i also learned a lot from recordings, playing with other people, self-study, etc.
i totally agree with your sentiment: it's never too late to try to learn something new. there's always something interesting to try to understand.
